ABOUT US

OUR JOURNEY
New Life, CLGI was founded in 2018, and we held our first service on December 9, 2018, at our first rental building located at 4179 West Jefferson Street in Springfield, IL.
In April 2021, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Lord kept the church through the lockdowns and provided everything that we needed to relocate and safely reopen in a rental at 2900 Stanton Street.
In September 2022, due to the Stanton Street building being sold by the owner, the church relocated to a rental on 3111 Normandy Road.
In June 2024, we entered with a 5-year lease at our current location, 125 W. Ash Street, Springfield, IL 62704, the building that we saw and desired years earlier.
In January 2025, the Holy Spirit told Pastor Harris that we needed to buy the building by the end of the year and he quickly encouraged the members that God was going to make a way since the Spirit said that we need to buy it by the end of 2025. Through the unity of the faith, Bishop Joseph White, and the First Jurisdiction CLGI, God gave us a miracle, and we bought the building in October 2025.
The establishment and growth of New Life, CLGI is a direct result of the perseverance, leadership and dedication of Pastor Demitrius Harris, Assistant Pastor CoTinna Harris, New Life, CLGI members, District Superintendent Elder Walter Jones (Bloomington Worship Center, CLGI), Bishop Joseph White, Founder and Presiding Bishop of the Church of the Living God International, Inc. (CLGI) , the prayers of the righteous that have availed much and the grace and mercy of God.
CORE VALUES
At New Life, CLGI, we are committed to upholding the soul saving, life changing teachings of the Bible. These values shape our interactions and guide us in serving our congregation and the broader community.
Philippians 4:9
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

OUR VISION
Our vision is to impact lives, transform communities, and spread the message of hope and salvation through our ministry. We aspire to create a welcoming environment where people can experience the love and power of God.
1 Peter 1:3-5
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, [4] To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, [5] Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
